About animated scenes

I've seen people ask this question sometimes, so let me address it here.

Does Harem Residence have animated scenes?

Short answer: No

Long answer: When I started to plan what I wanted for this game, animated scenes weren't in the equation. Not only I'm very used to still renders (no animation), crafting unique animated scenes take a lot of time.

Sure, I could pick the default ones the tool (Koikatsu) gives me. But honestly, I'm not a huge fan of that. Besides, this game has rather complex lewd scenes... if you completed the pool event, you know how many characters are involved... making an animated version of that would take a serious amount of time...

And I'm taking a lot of time to push releases already...

So, back in the planning stages, I had a question on the table: Do I sacrifice lewd events with multiple girls in order to have simple animated scenes, or ditch the animated scenes and stick with my original plan of having MC bang multiple girls?

As you can guess, I picked the original plan.

That said, I do see the appeal in animated scenes, and I've been doing some practice on my own, so you never know what could happen in the future.

I hope this gives some clarification on animated scenes.

Sticking to your own vision for huge projects like this is an important part of ensuring your desire to continue working on them doesn't die, so I think that's the right choice.

And while you're talking about how time consuming creating these scenes would be, lets not forget about the time it takes to write the script. The in-game content section mentions the script being ~380,000 words right now (not sure when that was last updated either). To put that into perspective for people, my favorite author, Brandon Sanderson, wrote a novel called "The Way of Kings" which is 383,000 words long. That novel is 1001 pages in hardcover. That is an INSANE amount of writing and must have been no small feat in addition to making all the renders.

I would say focusing on doing what you're doing the way you want and fulfill your original vision before bogging yourself down with even more complex and time-consuming things is the correct choice. It's so easy to take on too many ideas and overwhelm yourself to the point where you no longer feel like working on something.

Naturally my opinion is just one in a whole chorus of players, but my 2 cents: I think regular updates are more welcome than any fancy extra's. For a comparison, I play a handful of different games. Just picking one of them, Ripples, a wonderful game about story, characters, artwork, etcetera. But it takes half a year or longer for an update, and after such a long time you (at least, I) have to force myself to get back in the story, who is who and what was she all about? The other example, like Goddesses Whim or Corrupted Kingdoms, they update more or less monthly. Each time it's just a little progress in de storyline, but at least you stay in in the game, remember the characters en what the story is all about. Now, in Harem Residence, there are also a lot of girls, with each their own side paths and story's. To keep them remembering, my true opinion is that regular updates, does not have to be a complete chapter, are important to keep interest in the game. (by the way, good of you to inform of your real life situation, it's kinda easy to forget that the are real life persons behind this games with their own lives and issues. I hope you are going to get through it soon enough)

Hope you're doing well

Thanks for the clarification though yes it'd be really nice if we get an animated scene for this game but I would understand if we didn't get an animated scene
